Development Phases: Prototype and Future Development
Citizen science monitoring is a valuable tool for everyone. People can openly share their knowledge allowing scientists, resource managers, and stakeholders to learn from your observations. People can access information about what is happening in the waters next to their communities, and access scientific information that may be of interest for local needs. The current BioMap Alaska observation reporting and data management tool is a test version to see how well this method of information gathering works. By starting small, we hope to improve BioMap Alaska using input from your communities before we move forward to statewide implementation and an expanded species list.
